Opposites and Forever

I know it has been what feels like forever since I have posted here. But in that time I feel like I have progressed so much. I like exploring new avenues of photography, experimenting with my chosen palette of light. When I take pictures of people it is my goal to find what makes them unique and capture that. Here are some of this months favorites.

Being summer, Weddings are starting to pick up, but before the weddings I offer a complimentary Engagement shoot. One of these such couples is Dom and Jen. They are to be married on the 4th of July. They really worked the camera for me with their spunky
personalities and camera happy looks!

I ran a contest in March called warm hearts and cold days. Winner Casie and Sedar waited for the summer to do their session at Black Eagle park, which has significance
in their relationship.

I've had some wonderful client this last month. From engagements to seniors and just simply clients who wanted to show their unique sides. I have so much fun during the shoots, So every time I get a schedule text, I can't wait to meet the next client!

Speaking of which, I am finally offering online booking it seems to be really convenient for people as well as myself! If anyone wants to book go to.

Amber and Patrick

I got a message from Amber who had previously wanted to model for my bride line, SHe was wondering about when it would happen and I told her probably in May. She told me that her and her husband were moving to Maryland, SO instead I invited them to come have a couples shoot done. We started downtown and then roamed around Gibson park. Fun fun times!

This season is starting out wonderful!

Definitely one of my fav clients is Allisha, not only does she return year after year

but has also been one of the people who has helped me on the road to being a better
Photographer!
Initially, I had not set out to be a portrait photographer, back in those days I wasn't to
confident about my work, and I was working with some pretty small pixels. I really
loved doing fantasy art (which by the way is still a hobby of mine), Well, I needed models
for that art and so I took up doing stock images so I could swap images with other artists
for use of backgrounds or textures.
Alli was my first Model and has really started to "grow up" in front of the lens. She told her
friends and my friends saw images as well and soon I was doing portraits and then weddings.
It's amazing how word of mouth works.
I was more then happy to do a shoot for her!

Lightroom, a trip to Gibson Reservoir and Tina.

I was so excited to get my new photo-editing software, I recently upgraded my computer
so I could see my images in a more correct environment, not to mention 88 gigs was not near enough hard drive space for storing images! Well along with that came my want of
updated software. I picked up Lightroom 2 and am so far very impressed with the results.

So, this winter has definitely been some downtime for me, and I have missed being out shooting
and really miss having some new images to edit. I upgraded my camera and have yet to put it to some hardcore usage.

I did however, get the chance to spend an afternoon with my friend Tina, we spent the afternoon at Bob's bakery and walking around downtown. At one point we found this cute little shelter in a park and decided to put it to good use! I fired a few shots off before we headed our separate directions for the day.

It was a great warm day. But once we started getting adjusted to the warm weather, it decided to snow again! My neighbor asked me if I wanted to take a hike in the snow in the mountains, and all I could think was OH my yes! I packed up my gear and my middle son and off we went!
I loved this trip, I love exploring Montana and it's sad to admit, but I still haven't seen most of the local region! Here are some of the shots from that trip!

I have some models lined up for spring and I finally, finally found someone to try a Trash the dress campaign, where basically we have the bride dress up in her gown and do everything from romp through a forest to jumping in a lake. In this case the bride has been mariied a few years, but she wants to cut up her gown for a scrapbook, since this is the case she was more then willing to jump in a lake with it! I'll post them here when they are done which should be in May!
I also have a fine art shoot lined up and a bridal model line up too! Can't wait to post some of that here!

KIND HEARTS ON COLD DAYS..Nominate your friend to win!

It's cold out! The wind is howling and many of us are confined to the warmth of our houses. But while the skies are blustery and the ground is frozen, I know there are people out there who are still warm at heart.
So here is your mission. All of us know someone in this day that is just not making ends meet. Heck that's most of us! But there are those, who are giving even through the worst of it. I'm looking for people who are kind and generous through mantality not money.
It could be your sister who helped you through the hard times by giving you a shoulder to cry on. Your friend who volunteers, Your cousin who lost a loved one but has stayed strong and has picked up the pieces. It could be a friend who has conquered an addiction and won. Whatever it is whoever they are I'm asking you to nominate them!

The nominated person can win a photoshoot with unlimited changes with their immediate family. At a (local) location of their choice. (gibson park, Giant springs, pretty much anywhere it's legal) they will recieve 30 edited images on CD as well as a slideshow set to music and also digital delivery. I will set aside a whole day so that they can take as much time as they need to get the poses and images they want! worth 300.00 !

The person who nominated them will get a 2 hour shoot at 2 locations with 2 changes. They will recieve 15 images post edited on CD and digital delivery!. a package worth 150.00!

RULES
The person must live in Great Falls or a nearbye community.

The person cannot in normal circumstances be able to afford a portrait package
from me or anyone else in the area. In other words hardship is not owning 2 brand new cars a townhome and a vacation house.

Last Years weddings and coming back to Blogger.

What an amazing year 2008 was, I was actually sad of it's passing! I got to learn so much and I can definitely see that through every photo-shoot I do!
Among my changes for the New Year (besides the typical) is losing that overweight of a blog program known as word press. I guess, I'm not cut out for pro-blogging, i'd rather just take pictures.
Speaking of which! I wanted to share some of the amazing people who I invited me to shoot their weddings in 2008! I had so much fun and each of these has helped my photography evolve!

Most of these images are from the formal shoot that followed the ceremony. I absolutely LOVED working with this couple! they were whimsical and willing to try new things and they sing Karaoke and that is always a plus in my book!

What a wonderful evening that was, their wedding was South of Helena so it was a nice trip there as well!

TOMMY AND AMANDA.

A local couple who were so fun to shoot! I actually did some engagement shots for them earlier on and it was a terribly windy day but we got some great shots from it. The wedding day could not have been more beautiful and the location was amazing!

The great thing about this wedding was some of the details! I had a lot of fun grabbing some
pre-wedding detail shots.
